    Hi, based on searches through previous posts, it’s recommended that I do a capture of a DVD movie I want to make some edits to. Fine, I am using my AVERMEDIA capture card, connecting to the super VHS connector from my Sony DVD player, and L/R audio going through an older Creative Labs EXTIGY audio interface. All is well and good, but when I bring up my NEODVD utility to test capture (very very basic utility from AVERMEDIA) I get VIDEO BUT NO AUDIO. When I attempt to do capture through VEGAS …I get audio but no video! WHAT? I cannot figure this out. Also, am I capturing to AVI? How big will this file be after 90 minutes? Anybody have a clue about this? Thank you.

    Do you have a firewire connection? Try going:

    DVD player -> SVideo/RCA -> Convertor/DV Camera -> firewire -> computer

    BTW: If you just put the DVD in the computer and go to File – Import – DVD Camcorder Disc, it may work just fine as well.
