I’m just trying to track some text across the screen. But I want the text to be really big. But it’s getting cutoff wherever the placement box ends…so for example if the last couple of letters are outside of the safezone in the text generator then I can’t get those letters to show.

Hope I’m explaining that, I’m sure it’s something stupid that I should know.

Insert your text event. Size the font. Hit placement tab and move letters off side of screen (outt of sight) whic will set first keyframe. Then hit last keyframe indicator and move text to opposite side of screen and out of sight. Set time for event to adjust speed. Play your event. should have large (or small) fonts rolling from one side to another and out of sight.

Do the text movement via the “Placement” tab instead of Pan/Crop or Track Motion.

Thanks! I knew it couldn’t be as difficult as I was making it!

Thank you, I have been trying to do this for hours! But I don’t even know what the “placement tab” is or how to find it. Can you help? Also, very strange all the tutorials show that I should be able to set keyframes while entering text, but I an’t find any window in Sony Vegas Pro 13 that lets me do both. The keyframes window does not allow text insertion, and the insert text media window has no keyframes. I’d be grateful for your help!

Are you using “(Legacy) Text” ? … Placement tab is very visible. Animate button is down on lower left at the bottom of the box. Once you click on the animate button, keyframe timeline will pop on and stay on.
