  • Sony vegas 6.0a, audio stuttering problem?

    Hi everyone,
    My spec is as follows.
    p4 prescott 3.0ghz 800fsb 1mbcache with HTT
    NVIDIA pcs 5300 128mb graphics
    ASROCK dual series motherboard
    4ghz ddr400 ram
    200gb system HDD
Terratec EWS88MT sound (w/ breakout box)

I use sony vegas 6.0a for audio recording and mixing, using settings of 88,100kbps and 24bit, and roughly 2088 samples per buffer????(can’t remember exactly)
but have recently become aware of a stuttering problem, which is not to do with system capability.

The problem ONLY occurs when i have two identical tracks (via duplicate track function) which end together. The stuttering usually lasts about 3-5 seconds and ALWAYS happens immediately after the duplicates end, and therefore affects all tracks that follow.

I have tried to get round this by just avoiding duplicating tracks,,,but the way i mix,,it’s essential to duplicate a lot of the time,,,and i end up with so many stutters that i can’t hear a lot of the music.

This problem DOES NOT carry through the rendering process,,,so my final MP3s or wavs are fine,

    can any one help????

    thanks.

(ps,,i upgraded to 6.0c, with no luck)
