Best storage format for finished product render
Hey All,
I know this has been covered before, but I can’t seem to find it when I search.
Looking for the best format to render to for archive?
I do multicamera shoots that I finish and already delivered, I want to keep a copy in in case I need an example or to pull clips from or use Handbrake to shoot a random copy over the internet if needed.
Right now I am using Sony MXF files for 1080p or 720p depending on if I do a lot of zooms/pans in keyframing.
Is there another format you all think would be better to use?The file sizes are about 20-26GB which is fine by me. I am using the 35Mbps template.

Sony MXF is fine for this. For greater quality use one of the Sony MXF HD422 1920×1080 50Mbps templates.

My cameras shoot in 35Mbps, so I was going with that. Do you think the 50mpbs is worth it?

Nope. You can’t make something out of nothing. If your sources is 35Mbps then that’s all you need to use.
