Why is vegas rendering my image sequences at 29.9 fps when my settings are 23.4?
I was just wondering if anyone can help me out with this.
I’ve been rendering out a .dpx sequence that is 23.4 fps on the timeline and settings but it always keeps coming out at 29.9 in the end. I tried several different sequences and the same thing keeps happening.
Then when I bring the sequence back into vegas and put it back to the original fps it comes out to it’s original timeline however that’s not the same with it in Adobe Encoder where the time has been reduced.
Any help would be much appreciated my project is due tomorrow.

If your project settings are 23.4 fps, and your footage is 23.4 fps,
then its in your render settings you are making your mistake in.
Double check in the customized settings that your frame rate is set to 23.4 fps.Steve Rhoden (Cow Leader)

Why are you rendering to 23.4? That is no standard I know of, were you under cranking so other standard?

How are you determining this? i.e., what are you using to determine it’s coming out 29.97? For example, are you counting the number of images produced divided by the length of the timeline?

Are you telling Adobe Encoder that it’s 23.4 fps? Because if you don’t, it will never interpret it properly. 23.4 is a very strange frame rate.
