  Color Correction Ala Whatever Works

  Now, in the scene where he walks on the street I see a very unique collor correction, everything is blured except him, yet the objects have sharp color. It’s been making me nuts, as I tried to use Magic Bullet and everything inside After Effects ( with HD Footage) but still can not nail it.
  Can anyone give me some tips as how to start with this? Magic Bullet, the color palet…etc.
  It’s been driving me crazy
  Also, the ,,CHUCK” ( the Television Series) Collor Correction is interesting to me, in the scenes at the SuperMarket every color is seen really sharp and Bright, any thoughts on that?

  Just use a ND filter on your camera that forces the aperture open and gives a shallow depth of field. As for the color, looks like they rotated the individual RGB hues towards skin peach colored etc and hey; its film, so it has a larger range of color, saturation than is typically possible on HD cameras. I wrote an AE project file that can do this, also Tiffen has a 3 strip technicolor plugin too.
