  • Save File corrupted by installing a plugin?

Not entirely sure what happened here. I was working on a project, closed Sony Vegas, installed a plugin and when I attempted to re-open Vegas, every single clip in it of all extensions that worked fine previously says “An error occurred opening the media file.” I cannot even open the project at all, and “specify a replacement file” on the same file still there will bring up the same message again. I’d rather not have to uninstall the plugin, so what can I do?

Hopefully you saved your work before closing Vegas and installing the plug-in. Look for the file in your project folder that has the .bak tail. That’s your backup. To see the .bak files – click on file/open then in the bottom right change the Look In drop down list from All Projects to All files. THen you should see the .bak files listed.

If the back up files has the same problem something else is wrong.

You really have no choice. At a minimum, you have to uninstall the plug-in to see if that’s what is causing the problem. Then contact the manufacturer of the plug-in and ask for help.

    What plug-in was it?

The question is, Which plugin is it?
Have you tried uninstalling this plugin to see if things works again like it used to?
