    Somehow you’ve captured a 4×3 format and put into a 16×9 project.

I always do that. I have black bars in video, but I want to take snapshot directly from Vegas preview and before I could do that with no problems.

Assuming your project settings have a 16×9 aspect ratio (e.g. 1280 x 720),try this. In Vegas, select your event. There should be black bars on either side. Then open the pan/crop window. Place cursor over the image, then right-click and select Match Output Aspect. The image should then fill the entire frame.

You could also use the “Match Media” button in the “Project settings,” and select you source media. Then your project will match you source media, and stills will no longer be pillar boxed.
