How to render without losing quality?
Posted by Paul Hinderscheid on January 10, 2016 at 4:19 amI did some graphic design work and I just imported the .png pictures into Sony Vegas and added some background music. I want to render as a video and upload it to YouTube. I know it’ll be compressed when uploaded but I figured it’d be even worse to have it compressed when rendered and then compressed again when uploaded. I tried a couple different rending settings but some of the images look really compressed particularly in the text. Even when raising the bit rate really high it still looks compressed in the text. So I was wondering how do I render without losing quality or very little compression? I would greatly appreciate the help.

Now, what are your Project Settings and your Render Settings?

January 10, 2016 at 6:15 amHere’s my project settings- https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-nb3L_H13cx4/VpH0wFi9ELI/AAAAAAAAAE4/uls_0vM9IOs/w589-h821-no/settings.png
I know my image size isn’t 1920×1080 and it’s 1870×500. However. I was fine with the background being filled with black kinda like this- https://i.imgur.com/wswD0tf.jpg
Oh, and here’s my render settings- https://plus.google.com/101650132879622938112/posts/QZFjmKq48M1?pid=6238038216673757154&oid=101650132879622938112
Thank you for taking the time to help me, I really do appreciate it.

January 10, 2016 at 7:19 amAlright, I did that and tried rendering again. Doesn’t look like it changed anything, the text still looks compressed. Especially when I put the original image side by side, it also seems a bit darker than the original image.

January 10, 2016 at 9:00 amI apologize if that’s not what you meant.
Main Media Information after render:
Size:133 MB
Frame Width: 1920
Frame Hight: 1080
Data Rate: 17416kbps
Total Bitrate: 17802kbpsHere’s what the image looks like before render- https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-6dz4rmRHfBw/VpIOJw_RX5I/AAAAAAAAAGo/WpCVospJi84/w1538-h865-no/Screenshot%2B%252859%2529.png
And here’s what it looks like after render- https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-tK5oV9R_46A/VpINzmAVw0I/AAAAAAAAAGg/pkjwEe1L1GE/w1538-h865-no/Screenshot%2B%252858%2529.png
Probably difficult to tell the difference but on my monitor I can easily tell it got a bit darker and the edges on text got a bit pixilated.

January 10, 2016 at 9:47 amI set the bitrate to maximum but unfortunately it didn’t change a thing. Still a slight different color/darker and still the pixilated text.
