    good evening to all,

please, i wish to have your kind advice and/or your suggestion for rendering videos for multimedia dvd-rom

i am trying to close a deal for a small production of multimedia dvd-rom’s for a local charity club

i have to tell that it was my idea the production of a multimedia dvd-rom since there is a large number of videos and audio files

some of the videos have to be downloaded from vimeo and youtube and have to be converted first in order to be rendered in vegas

the audio files are mp3 and wave

i am thinking to render those videos in windows media format v.8 or v.9 (wmv) with 3 mpbs with audio of 320 kbps

also, the audio files have to first converted in wave and then to be encoded as mp3 files @ 320 kbps cbr

the videos are documentaries, social events of the club, lectures, seminars and the audio files are also lectures as well

my multimedia dvd-rom will be something like those dvd’s that are bundle with many magazines (pc format, computer & music, keyboard magazine)

my other problem is to find a multimedia program to create my dvd-rom

i know only director and authorware for multimedia creation but i am afraid to say that both are out of my budget

    many thanks in advance

ConvertXtoDVD is the best DVD Authoring software around, and very affordable.

I believe you need to select your multimedia authoring software first and then render to the format that the software requires. This may be different for each authoring program.

I’ve never created a multimedia dvd and in 2015 I have no idea why anyone would want to with most people using computers and tablets that don’t even have dvd drives anymore. That’s a technology from a by-gone era.

    good afternoon to all,

dear john i thank you for your kind reply

the only reason i want to produce dvd-rom is because i cannot find a way to put all those videos and audio files on a single dvd (as dvd movie)

if i produce a multimedia dvd-rom then all those videos and files could be easily fit on a single dvd (4.3 gb)

as for the multimedia authoring software i have to buy i will try to find through ebay authorware or director mx 2004 (old versions – cheap software)

by-gone era or not, many a clients still request this dated medium.
And DVD Rom’s still have their Archival purpose and place!

[Steve Rhoden] “by-gone era or not, many a clients still request this dated medium.”

I’m not talking about a regular DVD. I’m taking about a Multimedia DVD. I’ve never had anyone ask for a multimedia DVD which can only be played in Window computers ever in the 15 years that I’ve been editing video.

So the local charity who you are bidding the work for knows this is not a regular DVD movie but rather a multimedia DVD ROM that requires a Windows computer to play back? That’s all I’m pointing out. If people are expecting to play this back on their TV sets they are in for a surprise.

good afternoon dear john and i thank you for your kind reply

    yes, you have right

it will be a windows or macintosh compatible dvd-rom

the easiest way is to just burn a data dvd with all the videos and audio but i prefer the structure of the dvd-rom

any ideas of the final rendering videos

    thanks in advance
