  Parenting/Rotating issues

  I’m new to AE and I’m currently working on a kinetic typography project.

  I have four compositions with animated lines of text within a main composition and they’re parented to each previous layer. All the animation (rotate, scale and position) key frames have behaved so far, but for the 5th composition, I need the previous four to rotate 90 degrees clockwise. I’ve placed key frames on the 1st composition (since they’re all linked) before it rotates to keep it in place, then a few frames along, I’ve placed another key frame and rotated the text. Problem is, going to the start of the timeline, it’s rotated everything around as well. How can I stop it from rotating all the other previous key frames?

  I have no idea what you’re seeing.

  The standard answer for such inquires is to Precompose and apply your last set of moves to the downstream setup.

  Nevermind. Not too long after I posted the question, I found I hadn’t put a keyframe on the rotate layer, and I’d been trying to figure it out for a whole day!
