  Timelapses and cropping

  I’ve just started getting into timelapses. When I import my images (6000×4000) as a clip it automatically crops them to the video size (1920×1080). Is there a way I can have it leave them at their native resolution so I can crop myself and use that extra resolution to pan/zoom?

  As an aside, I’m also having a problem with the sequence in the preview window being very grainy. These are high noise images (shot at ISO6400, night images) but the preview window is so massively grainy it’s basically unusable, whereas when exporting everything looks fine and the grain is barely noticeable.

  Vegas will use the full res of your photos when you pan/crop. By default Vegas does conform the source to the output dimensions but that is done after pan/crop in the pipeline chain. Therefore pan/crop sees the full source file dimensions.

  I have done some slideshow stuff on 4000×3000 jpegs in a 1440×1080 project.
