  ITunes Uninstall Kills Vegas 11

  I uninstalled itunes and its evil sister programs (except Quicktime) and now vegas crashes immediately after starting. Rolled my computer back to before and Vegas works fine. Uninstalled iTunes again and vegas dies again.

  Anyone have any ideas what iTunes is ripping apart that would affect Vegas?

  Core i7-5960X 3GHz; Nvidia GTX980, 16 gig RAM Win7 64bit.

  My Software:
  Vegas Pro V11 with Boris Continuum Complete 8, VASST Ultimate S; Bluff Titler; AE5; PhotoPaint and other stuff.

  Not sure what’s upsetting Vegas Pro but I would uninstall all Apple programs including QuickTime and remove everything from the registry and file system. Then reboot your computer and re-install just QuickTime and then see if Vegas Pro starts. If not, re-install Vegas Pro as well. If not, rollback and just live with iTunes being installed and don’t use it.

  Vegas shouldn’t really care if QuickTime is installed either unless you try and render to it or drop a MOV file on the timeline. I’ve had Vegas Pro running fine on computers with no Apple software at all and it works fine.

  Nothing that i know of. Your Vegas however seems to have a link to it.
  But that shouldn’t be a bother, you can simply let itunes remain installed.
  It’s a minimal program, barely takes up any system resource…
