    i am working on a project that got videos with different dimension .
    Some are, Dimension : 640 × 480 Codecs ACC, H.264, MPENG-4SDSM, MPEG-4 ODSM Others are 640 × 360 …i want the final project to be HD …whats the best rendering output settings ? I’m using Sony Vegas pro 12 . thanks

    Sorry forgot to mention other videos are 1280 × 720 .

    If your highest resolution is 1280×720 then I would set your project properties to that. As you add the standard definition footage, Vegas Pro will scale it up. Of course you will have black bars on the sides because the aspect is different. You can leave this as is or fix it by opening Pan/Crop, right-clicking on the window and selecting Match Output Aspect and adjusting the 16:9 crop accordingly. Then just render to 1280×720.

    Thanks for the reply …got one last question… after rendering some videos that are 640 × 360 fit the entire screen when playing ( No black bars on the sides ) …Others have black bars … why the difference ?

    Different aspect ratios. This is the ratio of the width to the height. 1280×720 and 640×360 are 16:9. 640×480 is 4:3.

    Give thanks for the quick reply ..If i have a project with vidz that are 640×360 others 640×480 …whats the best rendering option in Sony Vegas 12 ?

    Both of those formats are SD so I would probably render to SD. If you could crop the 640×480 to 640×360 without loosing important parts of the scene, then I would render as SD Widescreen. Otherwise you have a tough choice because rendering the 640×360 as 4:3 will zoom an already small picture. If you could make it all widescreen I would.
