continuously rasterizing/collapse transform is disabling my layers transfer mode and I don’t know why.

A layer very similar below it is having no problem doing both.

    what’s the catch?

After adding a mask to the layer it allows me to collapse transforms and use a mode .. Not sure what the reason is but would love and explanation.

    hi,

what kind of layers are these? are these precomps? if they are precomps, you set your transfer modes inside that precomp. hope this helps.

I just worked this out after scratching my head for ages! If you’re working with pre-comps and you have a load of layers within the pre comp set to different transfer modes they all work if you check the continuously rasterize switch. As soon as you add an effect to that pre comp in your main comp – it’s all disabled. Simple as that. Transfer all effects to an adjustment layer or individual layers in your pre-comp and that should solve it.
