  Text will block out my video – Sony Vegas Pro 13

  I’m having a really annoying problem with Sony Vegas.
  When I add transparent text (the text that has the checkered background) I am only able to drag it above or below my actual video track and when I place it above, this shaded area appears beneath it overlapping my video. When I preview the video, it blacks out for the portion the text it up.
  I have no clue how to fix this, so please help!

  I just put a default transparent text in a track above the video and it looks fine. Vegas 13. Can you post a screen shot?
