best render setting for vegas pro 13
hi i have a Panasonic hdc sd800 that shoots at 1920 by 1080p at 50p cant get vids looking good on youtube. What are good render setting thanks nathan halls

Have you tried using Main Concept AVC with the Internet 1080p template? That’s the one that’s designed to be used with on-line video sites like YouTube and Vimeo.

What is your source video format? Is it interlaced or progressive? From your project settings, you would have a problem with interlaced footage because you didn’t select a deinterlace method.

Your render template doesn’t make sense. The whole purpose of using Variable Bit Rate is to let the bit rate vary between Average and Max. You have them set the same which doesn’t allow for any variability and gives you a Constant Bit Rate. If you really want CBR 20Mbps then you should use the CBR setting.
Are you sure that High is the proper Profile for YouTube? The Sony developer seem to think that the Main Profile should be used. Do you know something that they don’t?
Does YouTube support 50p? If not, you should send it 25p.

i use a Panasonic hdc sd800 that is 1920 by 1080 and shoots at 50p and if you film lots of fast moving sports then is vbr better and what bit rate would you recommend for youtube, sorry i am a total newbie with this type of stuff

VBR is better for smaller file sizes. YouTube accepts pretty high bit rates so it doesn’t mater but if you meant to use a constant bit rate than you should use CBR.

YouTube’s approved formats page changes like the wind. It is very likely John’s question comes from a previous posting of that same page. Page posted is not that up to date, as it has no mention support of 8K support that is active as of this post.
Try not to post rude comments to people that are just trying to help.
Your simplest YouTube upload formats to use from Vegas would be XAVC-Long.MFX or XDCAM-EX.mxf. These formats are variable and will use only the amount of bit rate needed, as well as maintain what ever quality the low bitrate AVCHD source footage has. If you are shooting with high end source material, these formats will be optimized, which YouTube will simply downgrade again to the display format.
Applying a sony levels FX, with Computer to SRGB to your render will keep YouTube from expanding your contrast.
