  • How to get media title text to display on screen (just like subtitles)?

Posted by Dominik Stefan on November 26, 2014 at 5:25 am

    Hi,

    Quick question:

There’s something called the “Active take name:” in video/clip properties (on timeline, right click clip/media/video > Properties), where you can view the title of each particular clip. If, for example, I wanted to add 10 one minute video clips to my projects timeline, is there any way to get the aforementioned “Active take name:” text to display on the bottom of the video screen for the duration of each video clip? This would look very similar to how subtitles look, except for my purposes hardcoded text would be fine – as these videos are headed straight for youtube. I could do it individually (ie, Insert Video Track > Insert Text Media), but was hoping for something a little less cumbersome and time consuming.

Here’s one example I found of exactly this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n05Jd9X5Vx8&list=UUi_V-NWe_nqsj5AlT3SIN_g

Any ideas? I appreciate any help. Thanks!

    I’m using:
    sony vegas pro 12
    and windows 8.1 pro

Vegasaur can easily do it, but it’s not free.

Thanks. I’ll look into it. So Vegas Pro 12 can’t do something like this from within the program, to your knowledge?

Thank you both, Aleksey and Steve! I’m just glad something can do this. In that case, think I’m gonna dish out the $99.95 and get Vegasaur.

    Thanks again guys! : )
