  Intel Xeon Rendering Performance

  Hey,

  Does anybody have any comparison advice / experience with Intel Xeon processors and Sony Vegas. Am currently using an i7 4960x with 64gb of ram and am finding render speeds to be 3-4 times the video length. Footage is recorded at 1080p and then upscaled to 3840×1800 resolution at 20mb/s bitrate (I realise this might not make sense to some, it is to do with YouTube bitrate issues at 1080p, and this has to be done, so please don’t reply with things to do with this method or upscaling, I am purely interested in Rendering Performance of different CPU’s).

  Is there a significant performance benefit to using a high end Xeon processor? Does anybody have any links to performance comparisons?

  I have posted CPU performance links on here in the not-too-distant past. You should be able to find it easily via the search function. The Xeon will give the best performance, in a nutshell.
