Using background image and animated text tracks with an animated spotlight
Hi,
I have a project in Vegas Pro 12 where I have a 5 tracks. One is a brick wall background image and the rest of the tracks are text. I have each of the text tracks set fly in from either the left, right or bottom and then stop in a certain area of the screen.
What I wanted to do is make it look like there is a spotlight on the brick wall background and only that area is in focus and the spotlight follows the text left to right, before stopping in the middle of the screen with all the text in focus. I wanted to do this with a bump map spotlight but but didn’t know how to use it this way as I put it on the brick wall image and the text stayed fully in focus, then I put it on all the tracks and it just made the spotlight brighter.
Does anyone know a way I could do this?

No responses yet Dave so here’s my suggestion. Have you considered masks and also animation of say a Gaussian blur effect on your text? And probably on your brick wall if i understand your question correctly. Haven’t tried it but it should be straight forward.
