  Workflow assistance needed

  I’m taking a couple of color correcting courses from the fxphd website.

  On one assignment, the footage is “log” footage.

  First, can someone explain what log footage is, as opposed to linear, and what would the workflow be to edit, grade such footage?

  Also, can someone explain how to use color bars? If you have them at the beginning of your footage, what do you do with the color bars and how do you incorporate that into getting an good end product?
