  • NEED FOR CLASS PROJECT – I DON’T KNOW HOW TO RENDER? Video is very choppy!

I am in desperate need to fnish this fast

Here is the info (I didn’t want to type it all out):

Whenever I try to render it (I just match the settings or try to use mp4, avi) the video either just doesn’t work at all, or renders EXTREMELY choppy (like almost 3 or 4 frams the whole video). The audio seems fine, but I just don’t know what to do. I also know close to nothing about this program, and did only very basic editing….please help, I need to know how to fix this!

    Eqra,

You need to give a load more info before anybody here can even try to help. People on this forum are extremely generous of their time, but you need to specify the problem in more detail:

    a) What are you trying to do exactly?
    b) What have you tried?
    c) What are your sources?
    d) What are you trying to render to?
    e) What version of the software do you have?
    f) What are your machine specs?

Only than can people help you.

    A) I’m just trying to render a video. It’s a bit edited, with some pan/zoom, a few edits, nothing really special or major. The video (when it renders) is extremely choppy, and only shows the first frame of each new clip. Audio is okay.

B)I’ve tried using the match settings and picking avi/mp4/wmv and a bunch of other ones, but nothing seems to fix the problem (sometimes, it just makes it worse). I’ve even tried to configure my settings to this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_CPUEXLv6DY
It still doesn’t do anything for me.

C)My source files are .mov video files that are 1920×1080, 23 fps.

    D) Anything that works! Maybe something with at least 720 dpi quality.

    E) I am using sony vegas pro 11.0

    F)System specs:

If it matters, even the preview window is very very choppy!

    Hi Eqra,
Do you have K-Lite or another similar codec pack installed on your system? Some users in the forum including myself have had problems with installations of codec packs. According to user John Rofrano, certain codec packs can replace Vegas’ high-quality codecs with lower quality ones thus causing Vegas-related issues like bad renders/preview, Vegas 11 is particularly prone to this.

Renders should never be choppy. They should always be smooth. Try disabling GPU acceleration by setting it to None under Options | Preferences | Video and then restart Vegas Pro and render to MainConcept AVC with one of the Internet HD… templates and see if that helps.

Sometimes a simple system restart does the trick!
