Do you have the event you want to stabilize selected?

Have you applied the Stabilize effect as a Media FX. You cannot apply it as a track or event fx.

When I add the effect as an event fx all options are disabled and there is a box below those controls that states the effect must be applied as a media fx. This bottom description box can be closed.

When I add as a media fx then the controls are not disabled and there is a box below the controls stating that apply must be selected.

Firstly I was trying to add event FX and it didn’t work. If I added FX on track FX then it shown the option of stabilizer and now it works fine.

TIP!: I’m sure you realise that anything else you put on that track will also get the Stabilize treatment too? Maybe you want that? Better is to add the FX at the Media Level in the Project Media Pane. This ways anywhere you HAVE that footage will be stabb’d and you don’t need to waste a Track.

Interesting. If I try to add Stabilize as a track effect, I get the same message from Vegas stating the effect must be applied as a media effect. All controls are disabled.

“You’ve added the Stabilize plug-in to a track. This plug-in must be applied to a clip or subclip as a media effect.”

Norman is correct. Well, there’s a thing! I’ve never done the Stab to Track, but if I HAD here it is:-

Anna how DID you do it? Talk about getting the wrong end of the stick…. and kinda makes my “TIP” a complete waste of time!
