Having a problem with BCC 8
Hello, sry if im posting in wrong sections of forums. I have a question about BCC 8 for Vegas 12, I am new at vegas, so pls excuse me for being a newbie, when i start a new project first thing i do is create new video track than create new event, after that i been trying to get BCC 8 Steel Plate as a background, when i add it from plugins nothing shows up just the black screen, i noticed if i add BCC clouds with the steel plate it will show up. Is there a way just to get the Steel plate on a layer by itself without the clouds, or am i doing something wrong? Any he;p is greatly appreciated 🙂

Try this: Create an empty event and apply Steel Plate to that event. Then extend the event for as long as you need it.

thanks for the reply, so i insert video track than insert empty event. I drag the steel plate on the empty event and stretch the timeline video track? If yes i tried that and didnt work, im still kinda new with vegas. i have tried to put steel plate on an event by itself nothing happens, when i add bcc clouds to it, it will show up steel plate.

Sorry, I forgot that Steel Plate is an overlay. Instead of using an empty event, use a Generated Media | Solid Color | Grey (or any color you want the steel plate to be). That will give the Steel Plate something to composite with.

I remembered how I got it working on an empty event. Open the Apply settings and uncheck Source Alpha. A Vegas Pro Empty Event is 100% Alpha Channel. So there was nothing to project the steel plate onto. Unchecking the alpha makes the steel plate show.
The Alpha setting is really nice because this means is you can apply Steel Plate to a Title and just the letters will become steel plated because it won’t affect the alpha channel. 😉
