  Cannot Open My Sony Vegas Movie Studio Software Automatically

  Everytime I click on my Vegas Movie Studio icon to open the program I will get the icon on the desktop but the program will only open when I move the cursor back and forth over the icon. I have the same problem with the Architect DVD software as well. If I do not move the cursor over the icon the software will not start up. The problem started sometime ago when I was using Version 11 so I decided to purchase and install the latests Platinum 12.0 version and the problem still exists.

  Hi Peter;

  This sounds more like a Windows problem than a Vegas problem.

  Create a Restore Point; I also recommend a backup before proceeding.

  Uninstall the offending programs.

  Run the latest CCleaner and let it clean the registry. (Say yes to the backup offers). Run it multiple times until it either does not find anything or keeps finding the same problems but can’t fix them.

  Run Process Explorer and see if you have any unneeded crap running, if so, hunt it down and disable it.

  Reboot at least once and then re-install.

  Again, you problem sounds like some variant of “Windows Sickness” (my term ;-p ) so this is probably not the best forum to figure that out.
