Using “s” key to split
Windows&/64/VegasPro10:
Sometimes when editing, the ‘s’ key will not function to split the event . Any idea what I may be doing wrong? The video clip is .mts/5.1 sound.

Make sure the Event is selected.

Yes, as Bob said, the event has to be selected first.

If no events are selected, it will split all events under the cursor
If an event is selected under the cursor, it will only split the selected event(s)
If an event is selected but no selected event is under the cursor, nothing will be split

Thank you all. Graham was correct in assuming that I had not ‘selected’ the event. Once selected, all works fine.

Vegas does a lot of “smart” stuff. This isn’t one of its best GUI talents. You aren’t alone.
