  • Can’t see edits in preview?

Posted by Sassy Angeloff on January 10, 2014 at 6:42 am

For some reason, I can’t see my edits when I look at the preview window. When pan/cropping my clip, it doesn’t show up in the preview window for me to see, and sometimes I can’t even add a new little scrubber thingy to the line. Same with effects. These seems to happen to me when I start getting really into a project. It’s rather annoying, and I want to finish a video of mine for once.
My editor is Sony Vegas Movie Studio 11.
I’ve looked this up already but have only found ways that don’t cooperate with my editor.
    Please help??

Try cleaning up your computer then reinstall Vegas Movie Studio.

PanCrop : Do you have the SYNC Cursor active?

FXing : Do you have FX by-passing engaged?

Well, to be honest, I have no clue what the FX bypass is or how to active it or disable it or anything. The pan/crop is fine now, though. It may have just been me being on the wrong clip or something.

Click on the icon in your video preview window that looks like a square with a black circle in the middle, right next to where you change your video preview settings. If that is depresses, then none of your FX changes will show up.

That’s why I haven’t solved this. I don’t have that button! It’s not in Sony Vegas Movie Studio, apparently.

Okay, I’m REALLY scared and panicking now! I can see the first two scrubber thingies, but I can’t see the third one or ANYTHING past it when editing/animating effects! PLEASE HELP!!
I’ve already reset the layout of Sony Vegas Movie Studio 11 multiple times!!

Okay, so I went into the preferences and checked ‘Show bypassed effects’
But my problem is that when I add an effect, I can only see the first two previews.

Explain it a bit more. What do you mean when you say you can only see the first two previews?

Well, when I get an effect such as ‘Bump Map’ and move it on the first diamond, it’s fine. I can move it down the line and it automatically makes the second diamond, and I can edit it. I also see it in the preview. Then when I move it and edit it again, no edits I made can be seen in the preview. Yet when I playback after closing the window, I can see any of the edits I made.

Is this ONLY happening to me?
