  Merge (morph) two masks into one

  Hi All,

  Is it possible to merge two mask paths from one layer into a single path? If not, does anyone know of a third party plugin that does this?

  I dont know if you can merge paths directly in After Effects. If you really need to do this, I would cut and paste both paths onto the same solid layer and use the add property under the masks. If you need the mask to be one, continuous path, say to animate along, simply precomp the solid layer with both masks on it and then autotrace the precomp to give you one new mask.

  Hello

  I’m having the same problem with masks merging.
  What I’m trying to do is a text layer auto-traced or outlined and then merged all the masks made from the characters merged to only one mask to be used in radio waves plug-in.
  I tried your method of copy them and paste it to a new layer and pre-composed, and then auto-trace, but I end up with the same amount of masks.
  I even tried to make a layer in photoshop and import it so see if makes a difference, but no success until now.

  Do you have any clues?
