AE (null)
I’m running :Activity Monitor the after effects logo says (null) beside it, would you know what that means?

just checked out this forum, I don’t have classic running on that system. Does anyone know what this means AE (null) would it relate to anything else?

Is this bothering you just because you can’t figure it out or is this a real problem?

i don’t know why the ae app comes up as (null) in the activity monitor, but it is normal (at least it says the same for me) and i don’t think yo need to be concerned about it.
just know that it is the ae foreground process.
if you have ‘render multiple frames simultaneously’ enabled you will also see several other ae background processes running called aeselflink. those are the render engines that are running on each available core. when rendering with mp enabled, these will do most of the work and should be consuming the processor cycles. if not enabled, the ae (null) process will be using all the cycles.
