How to get SV 12 to stop maximizing clips when I put them on timeline!
Is there a setting I can select so that SVP 12 will stop maximizing the size of the clip on the timeline?
For example, I find a clip via the Explorer, then I drag it down onto the timeline and the size of the clip fills the entire timeline. I don’t want that.
I used to just bring a clip onto the timeline and it came in at a normal size.

You can set the thumbnails in Preferences:
By the way, there are no clips on the timeline. Any media on the timeline is an event.

OK. I should have included images.
If I recall, whenever I used to drag a video clip onto the timeline, it looked like this:
Fine. No problem.
Now, for some reason, whenever I drag a video clip from the Explorer down to the timeline, it looks like this:
It now fills the entire timeline whenever I drag it there. It’s annoying, to say the least!!! I have to drag it to make it smaller, or press the ~ key to minimize it, then drag it to the size I want.

There is a hidden “Track Height” option in Preferences. Maybe this was changed?
To get there, hold the shift key when you click on options/preferences. Warning, there is a valid reason that this tab is normally hidden. If you aren’t very careful about what you change here, you can truly screw up Vegas.

That did it!
For some reason my Default Video Track Height was set to 146! How it got there, I don’t know!
I set video and audio default heights to 64.
I didn’t know about that feature. It’s obviously something you don’t want to touch unless you know what you’re doing.
