  Burning DVDs for Poland and Australia

  Hi,

  I recently shot an HD wedding that has requested two additional DVD copies for Poland and Australia. I burn my DVDs with DVD Architect 5.2 through my Vegas 10 software. Do I need to to do anything different when I burn these DVDs as far as settings, region codes, or anything else so that they will be compatible in those two countries? Please advise.

  Aren’t those areas Region 1? Google will be your friend on this question.

  Region codes are an optional restriction. If you specify no region code than the DVD can be played anywhere on compatible players.

  Those are PAL countries so if your DVD is NTSC, you might need to create a PAL version for them but you might not. Most PAL DVD players will also play back NTSC discs. You should probably ask if this is the case for the people you are sending to.

  As for region codes, by default the DVD’s you burn with DVD Architect are region free. If you want to set the allowable regions, then North America is Region 1, Europe is Region 2, and Australia is Region 4. I would just leave the default to all regions since you’re really not trying to restrict playback.
