  problems with video capture

  Hi there, just bought a new loaded pc and Sony Vegas 12. I put a new fire wire in because my computer didn’t come with it and my video camera requires it. The computer recognizes the camera but every time I try to capture the actual video a window pops up saying video capture has stopped working, not sure what it could be and what can I do to fix this problem? thanks

  I’ve never used firewire, but I thought I understood that you’re not actually “capturing” with firewire, but transferring (?)

  What you describe sounds familiar to me as maybe being a sync issue between the camera and capture card (?)

  Don’t put much weight on this “help”, because I don’t know if it really is.

  Are you capturing using Vegas itself or Video capture 6
  And what type of camera is it and the format you are capturing?
  These are important questions, to better assist you.
