I cannot find my project I need some ADVICE real bad..

Ok so I made a big project of mine and before Is start a project I name it and save it… I did that and began to to my work along the way saving until “error occured cannot save file” kept popping up everytime I tried to save.. So I did save as and renamed the file and kept going along and saving with no problem. I was 80% done and Sony Vegas crashed luckily right before I saved it. I went to open it again and it asked if I would like to restore I clicked no because it would have sent me further back than where I was when I saved it. However, I cannot find the VEG file!! I search and search and cannot find it I check the latest files and it’s gone. When I go to save as and type in the name of the file it said “Do you want to overwrite the previous file” however it is not in the folder.. Its there but not showing can someone please help man I do not want to have to start over because the video will not be as good someone help me please I checked the temp folder and nothing is there… Can I make vegas ask me to restore the file again ?

I would open Windows explorer and do a search by typing in .VEG in your search window on the upper right of explorer. Be sure to have “computer” selected when doing your search so it searches the entire contents of your computer.
Vegas also makes a file with your “filename.veg.bac” You can remove the “.bac” from any of those and you’ll have your file again or at least one of them.

Your file should be in the Vegas temporary folder,
or in C:-Users-computer name-AppData-Local-Sony-Vegas Pro-12.0

Roger, that should be .bak . I don’t know of a Vegas or Windows protocol for .bac?
