  can’t change format to mp4 under mainconcept / 1920 x 1080

  render as / mainconcept AAC AVC / Blue-ray 1920 x 1080 60i / customize template / system / Format grayed out video elementary stream(avc)
  Vegas pro 12 build 563
  anyone else having the same problem?
  I am able to render to MP4 under “mainconcept AAC AAVC ” for everything in the list except it is also “grayed out”. Once I get to anything “Blue-ray”, then , under “format” it defaults to “video elementary stream (avc) and is also grayed out.
  I have already uninstalled 12 and then reinstalled it
  I’m thinking I need the H.242 something codec ?

  This is not a “problem” and is the intended behavior. What Sony has done is make it harder for you to make a bad choice so depending on your starting template, they gray out items that should not be changed. Since you can only use an AVC stream for Blu-ray they don’t let you change it. If you start with the Internet HD templates, they are set to MP4 because that’s the container you should use for Internet delivery.

  So nothing is wrong, you don’t need any codecs, you just need to start with the correct template for what you are trying to do.

  thx John say “hey” to Steve. I am going to use the main concept HD Internet 720 for vimeo and youtube, hopefully that will do the trick thx again.

  oh quick question is there a keyboard shortcut for zooming in and out in pro 12? also is there a short cut to go to end of track and beginning of track?

  You can zoom in and out of the timeline with the scroll wheel on your mouse. Also Up/Down Arrow and Ctrl+Up/Down Arrow will zoom. Ctrl+Home or ‘W’ gets you to the beginning of the project and Ctrl+End gets you to the end.
