    Hi,

I got sony vegas pro 11 a couple of days ago for editing gaming videos. I’ve however been having trouble in that when I add a .wmv file into vegas and go through the video frame by frame, some frames are exactly the same (where there definitely should be movement)and I think therefore that it’s missing some out too. When I render the video to either .mp4 or .wmv it looks very stuttery and not nearly as smooth as the original file. The source media is 29.97fps which is what i’m trying to render to, so I’m not trying to double the frame rate or anything.

    Any help is much appreciated!

Unfortunately, WMV is a delivery format, and is not an ideal editing format.

My system specs: Intel i7 970, 12GB RAM, ASUS P6T, Vegas Pro 12 (x64), Windows 7 x64 Ultimate, Vegas Production Assistant 1.0, VASST Ultimate S Pro 4.1, Neat Video Pro 2.6

That sounds like something I recently received an answer on, but, unfortunately, I am not at home to refresh my memory on the correct switches. I’ll try anyway. If you right click on the video and select switches, there are two switches which need to be set. I think one is the interlace setting, and the other is definitely to force a resample. This fixed my problem in Vegas 12, but I did not check to see if it fixes the problem in earlier versions.

Force resample could be it, everywhere else told me to disable so it might actually be the problem, thanks for the help!
