I have a perfect take except for an accidental “photobomb” situation where a person enters the left side of the frame. The action I need is on the right side of the frame. The left side of the frame is static except for the photobomb.

My thought was to find a frame before the photobomb occurs, crop it to cover the area of the photobomb, and place it in a new track above the primary footage. That would essentially mask the photobomb.

Every time I try to use the crop tool in Vegas it rescales my image. I don’t want to rescale it. I want to maintain scale, but resize it horizontally and make it just big enough to cover the area of the photobomb. Any advice would be most appreciated. Thanks!

If I’m understanding it right what you need to do is in your pan/crop check the button under “source” to read “Stretch to fill frame” to NO

I believe you want to use Mask in Pan/Crop window

I would use the Mask tool as Aleksey said. Feather the edge of the mask and it shouldn’t be noticeable.
