  BluRay from 720p @ 25fps

  Hello there,

  Can someone tell me the best settings, in Vegas Pro 8 & DVA5, for rendering a 720p 25fps file into a BluRay disk? I’ve looked around and it seems that this may be problematic, so i’m hoping someone will have done it before and could just give me the settings. It’s quite urgent as the client has insisted that they want a BluRay.

  No because 1280×720-25p is not supported by the Blu-ray specification. You can have 1280×720 at 60p, 50p, or 24p but not 25p.

  Do you know of any work-arounds for me successfully getting this footage on to BluRay?

  You can’t get around the spec. Your options are to render 720-60p, 720-24p, or 1080-50i. I would probably choose 720-24p since it’s so close to the 25p that you already have.
