Alternative to Vegas Pro for rendering mpeg-2 file
I have previously reported on this forum the errors being made by Vegas Pro when rendering mpeg-2 files. The errors cause an occasional flicker on the screen which is readily apparent in the videos I am creating. I have reported the problem to Sony, responded to all their requests for reinstallation, and sent samples as requested. There has been no further response from Sony (after sending the last requested info), and I do not see mpeg-2 mentioned as either a fix or an unresolved problem in the latest Vegas Pro 12 build. So, it looks like a solution from Sony will not be forthcoming.
I am now wondering if I can use other software to work around this problem. Is there something else that, given an intermediate file, can generate the mpeg-2 file that DVDA needs to build and burn a DVD? For example, I have Premier Pro from the CS3 era. Can it take an intermediate file from Vegas, and generate the necessary mpeg-2 file?
Is there an alternate codec available?
Any ideas will be welcome.
