Hi, I am seeking practical advice on how to match footage from Panasonic TM900 and Hero3BLK cameras. I’ll be mostly shooting with the TM900 in 1080/60p, manual mode and manual white balance. The editing will be done in Vegas 12 Pro.

How should I set up the Hero3 to best match footage with TM900:

    1. use the same resolution as TM900 or shoot in 2.7K?
    2. use Hero3’s automatic white balance or presets?
    3. can I use Medium angle (sensor crop) or rather avoid it?

    Thanks,
    Adrian

Do you have the ability to do a test shoot? Then bring the footage from each camera into Vegas Pro and see how it looks? That’s probably the best way to achieve professional results.

    Hi Dave,

I’ve done some static camera tests. I am new to Hero3. At 2.7K/30 resolution this camera records high quality picture (downconverted in Vegas to 1080). Moving shots are not that great – I see some problems with interlacing.
I wonder if somebody intercut Hero3 footage with other camera and what settings they used.

    Thanks,
    Adrian
