I have captured video from a DVD I produced years ago, and am attempting to render a portion of it as a main concept .mp4 file for uploading and viewing on the web. I have rendered several other files as Apple iPod 640X480 video this way with no problem. But this one just won’t render, and I get a message “an error occurred while creating the media file. The reason for the error cannot be determined”. I tried rendering the part I want as an avi file with no problem, but when trying to create the .mp4 file from that avi, it won’t render and I get that message. Anybody have any ideas?? Thanks in advance.

Try using a different filename for your target.

Interesting. I really wanted that clip in .mpeg4 so I took the .avi version of it that I rendered in my Vegas 11 and tried to render it on my other computer in Vegas 10. It rendered hakuna matata! So that’s a work around, I suppose. But would be nice to be able to do everything in Vegas 11.
