Final newbie question of the day – saving images
I have tried finding the answer to this on the site with no luck.
I have saved a frame via the save icon on the video preview. Then I am using it as a background for a lame special effect for my son, but when the still is show instead of the video clip it jumps a bit as the aspect ration is just slightly off. Not a lot, but enough to make it appear to move a bit, very distracting. Any ideas on how to fix?

Hmmm, maybe you didn’t save the clip at the spot you plan to transition from? Else, try changing to Best FullScreen preview mode before saving, and check pan crop that the image is the same aspect as the project/video. I’ve had this problem before but I can’t reproduce it now…. but it should be an easy fix.

Vegas Pro V11 with Boris Continuum Complete 8, VASST Ultimate S; Bluff Titler; AE5; PhotoPaint and other stuff. -
You can put that particular still on a new separate track
directly above where you have it and then use the Track Motion
on that track to match exactly like how it is below….hope you
understand that.
You may can even use the Event pan/crop feature to match it.Steve Rhoden

You may likely not be inserting the still at the same spot where you took it. I do this all the time when I want a scrolling credit roll to slow and stop on the final text. I sometimes do it with just the velocity envelope.
If you are using Vegas 11 or 12, you do not need to switch to best/full on the preview window – Vegas does this as it saves the image.

If you have Vegas Pro, use a Velocity envelope to instantly freeze the video at the desired point.
Make the freeze as long as necessary and then resume it at the appropriate time. -
Thats another good point Mike, setting the velocity envelope
