Vegas 12 mask function
Posted by Larry Brewer on February 22, 2013 at 7:40 pmThe mask function that comes up when I open the crop window always leaves a thin black line when I use it to mask off chroma keys. Any work around for that?

February 22, 2013 at 8:32 pmHave you tried adding some feathering to the mask?

February 22, 2013 at 10:13 pmHmm… Any chance you’d upload that veg? Are you talking about that Vertical Line passing through the TEXT?

February 23, 2013 at 1:42 amI have attached a screen cap showing the issue. I have also attached the veg file from Vegas used for the screen cap. I used a zig zag line to more clearly demonstrate the issue.

February 23, 2013 at 2:33 amAh ha! I can’t thank you enough. To be honest I’ve never even noticed the pan/crop button was on the event fx line.
Would this little nugget of info be found in the “book” or is it just something you gotta discover on your own?

February 23, 2013 at 3:41 amDon’t think I ever saw it in a book, it was advice from someone else on the forum years ago.

February 23, 2013 at 3:56 amand years ago I was having this same problem.
Why doesn’t someone start a list of fundamental tips and tricks that are not found in the user manual? It beats having to search this forum and wait for some one that knows the trick to respond.
Anyway, thanks again.

February 23, 2013 at 4:32 amThat would be an awfully long list….
Not to knock the Vegas and DVDA manuals, but with almost everything Vegas, there is usually two, three or more ways to accomplish anything.I did, a long time ago, have a long list of Vegas tips – I guess I should resurrect it and bring it up to date.
