Is there a keyboard shortcut to mute a single event on the timeline?
“Z” does it for a track for not for an event.

There IS a KB Command waiting for you to assign a KB combination of KeyStrokes.

Open the Customize Keyboard and Type in the Global Option: MUTE

I just did and got back exactly what you’re after, but you do NEED to assign a KeyStroke. I used Ctrl+Z. You now click on an Event and hit Ctrl+Z and it Mutes that Event. Works for both Video or Audio.

MY BAD!!

Not Ctrl+Z, that’s the UNDO switch. I’ve now changed my MUTE option to Ctrl+”\” – ignore the quotes.

So, Ctrl+\ .

Grazie, I’m looking to mute (and unmute) on a single event and not the entire track. Can’t seem to find that option.

I do a lot of multi-track editing and there are many times when after expanding the tracks that I want to use a different event than I’ve chosen when doing the multitrack editing.

Thanks Grazie for taking time to do that for me.
I missed finding it because I didn’t see the “global” button and just searching without that didn’t seem to bring up the mute for an event but just for the entire track.
Anyway, got it now and thanks again.
This will really save me a lot of mouse work.
