    Hi!
First of all, let me explain that I have been working with Vegas professionaly since Vegas 3. I am not a begginer.
The problem I am facing now, NEVER happened before in any preview versions.
I am editing a 80 minutes documentary all shot in SD with mxf files. All the pics are in .png, the animation in .mov and nothing else that could be a problem or its is new to me or to vegas ( a couple of scenes from GOpro and a one from slow mo Imovix)Both run perfect in the preview.
I tried to render in mpg2 for a sd dvd and it crashes in one computer at 20% sharp, and in the other ( I copy the same project and the same midia ) at 4%. I also tried to render SD MXF and it crashed again.
The amazing thing is that when I copy the whole timeline to Vegas 11 and rendered it, it worked out. But I must finished the job with Vegas 12 beacause I have hundreds of – king of subtitles – that during the process of copypaste from V12 to V11 came in blank.
    Does anybody has any clue?
My computers are amd 4cores 8gig ram – with separeted HDs ( system and media)
    Tks

    Hi.
I just rendered 8 pieces of 10 minutes each of the 80 min timeline and had no problems…..Very strange.
Any clues? Any connections with op sys? Windows 7 64bit.
    Thanks and regards.

If there’s a solution I’d love to hear it, because I’ve been having similar problems rendering to mpeg2 since 12 came out. I normally have to keep trying until it either makes it all the way through, or just bring it home and copy it into Vegas 11. Normally these sort of massive problems with new releases are fixed by this time of year.

Jorge & David, do me a favour, try rendering the SAME Media that will not render in VP12 and, if you have it installed still, do the same in VP11.

Do you guys get any ERROR reports?

    Cheers

Are you rendering with video card assistance? Have you tried disabling this?

Options -> Preferences -> Video -> GPU Acceleration to None.

I’ve been having all kinds of render issues on my Mac Book Pro running Win 7 64 unless I disable use of the GeForce GT650M.

Tks guys for the reply. But as nobody from SOny Support or the guys from this forum post anything, it seems it is something difficult to solve…
Ans we are the ones to find a solution.
What I did was to split in 10 parts, rendering each by each. Then in another timeline, put them all together and rerender. It worked. Bu still it makes NO SENSE.
I could not use Vegas 11 because the lettering – a lot, btw – came in blank when I made the copypaste process. ANd to write it again it would be a 3 day of continuous work. And I waste a lot of time already. Therefore, the I decided to do what I just said.
But hte problem persists in both machines and for sure is a SOFTWARe MATTERS. And I hope, trully, that someone from Sony will find a way to solve it.
    Regards, JM
    PS:
    Joe,
    it is already off.

This problem is happening to many people.
i have had many problems with 12 crashing.I have sent in over 20 crash reports to sony. I crash a lot when using main concept and if i reboot i usually can get through it. The sony avc codec works when main concept wont.I also get from time to time crashes on preview and can only get through it when i preview at half res.
It is interesting that i never had crashing problems with vegas until sony bought them. Sure is fun watching vegas crash in front of clients.
Sony please dont give us any more extras until we have a stable version and a solid preview.

    YES INDEED!!!!!
And in the future versions, allow us to save the project at least in the preview old version….

I too can’t seem to render an Mpeg4 for Youtube. I keep getting an “InvalidCredentialsException — Invalid Credentials” message.
Geez! You would think one could finish a project and not have some sort of issue.

    Hi Jorge,
I had very similar problems and also wasted lots of time on a project trying to render. I posted my issue here on the COW but no response.

Not a fault of the cow, it’s a deep issue that SONY should resolve.

My project was crashing at exactly 60% if I recall. Right where there was a cut. I tried moving the cut, same,if I rendered each clip from both sides of the cut, no problems. In the end I had to render in sections like you did. sucks!

Please post here if you ever find a solution.

    For MPEG4, try this:

If you have AMD graphics, set encode mode to ‘Render using OpenCL’
If you have Nvidia graphics, set encode mode to ‘Render using CUDA’
