Best way to convert 30p to 23.976 ?
Hello all!
I’m making a reel of my Steadicam & Jib work I’ve done over the last year. Problem is some of my clients shot in 30p, some shot in 23.976.
Most of it was shot in 23.976 so I created my project in that frame rate. When I converted the 30p to 23.976 footage within Vegas I tried several methods, including disable re-sample. None seem to work flawlessly, they seem to end up stuttering, due to dropping frames I suspect? So I thought what about taking the 30p footage in the 30p timeline & rendering it out to a JPEG sequence then take all the JPEG’s & place them into the 24p timeline. I understand this will make the footage 20% slower which is fine, & my thinking was well there won’t be no dropped frames, how could there be a better way ?Now that my reel is finished & rendered to 23.976 the places where I did this seems to lack something ? It just doesn’t look right ? Still has a chop look & not smooth & fluent, this is the best I can describe the artifact. At 3;30 seconds in my link I am providing, you can see the father & daughter dancing with me on my Steadicam, this is a great shot that I want to look the best I can in the conversion process but how ?
What would be the best way for me to convert my 30p footage to 23.976
I also have A.E. CS5 I’ve heard little on Magic Bullet frames & frames plus, what would be best ?IS THERE A SOLUTION ? keep in mind with motion due to Steadicam & jib moving.
Thanks to all for the help.
