applying single effect to group/bus/multiple video track
Posted by Miguel Falcão on November 20, 2012 at 11:15 pmHello, I have seen some replies on older threads so I wondered if newer versions of sony vegas can do it:
To apply one (or more) effect to multiple video tracks (in the same way it happens to audio bus tracks – not necessarily all tracks but just the ones I select).
Thank you very much

There are no Video Buses if that’s what you’re asking. You could use a tool like Ultimate S Pro to add the same Video FX to multiple selected tracks.

I did check the vegasaur extension- I was able to automatically turn on-off a single effect on several single tracks but I couldn’t create a bus in the same way as the audio.Thank you for your attention
best regards

April 22, 2016 at 10:05 pmDo you know any other NLE which supports video buses?
Copying effects to tracks using Vegasaur or any other similar tool is not very helpful…
I frustrate more and more, for audio I already prefer Reaper.
I think in nearest future I will have to move and get something more powerful… and stable… But I cannot use such NLE like Lightworks because I need OFX.

April 23, 2016 at 11:42 amIn Vegas you can use adjustment layers (empty tracks with Track FX applied after Compositing)

No, none that I know of. Vegas Pro has far more ways of adding FX than any other NLE but there is only the Master Video Bus and that affects the entire project.

April 24, 2016 at 3:27 pmAs others said, in Vegas Pro there is no way to use video busses the way you could use audio busses. Go the way Aleksey proposed and use an adjustment layer.
Use an empty “Parent Track” and make all the tracks you would delegate to a bus “Child Tracks” of this one parent track. Now on the parent track apply desired fx as “Track FX” and in the signal flow move “Composite” before the fx.
Thus fx applied to the pareent track will be passed to all the child tracks and the result is just like having used a video bus. -

April 26, 2016 at 7:13 amThanks for all who has replied! You are the best… really amazing idea! It sounds like parent track will be exactly a “bus” ))
P.S.
Sometimes I feel that I am not smart person.. but it is obviously for me that Vegas tries to make similar things in different ways… like for example pan/crop, track motion, envelopes, clips properties… yesterday I read article explaining how to create vignette in Vegas in 5 different ways.
