Vegas gets stuck on a 5 minute project
Hello. I’ve just shot a dlsr film with cinestyle in my T2i. I transoced the footage with Eugenia Loli’s tutorial, and started editing in Sony Vegas Pro 10 64bit. After I had about 4 minutes of video, Vegas started crashing every time I added a file if I did not do this just as it booted up. I do not know what to do now. Tried editing the rest on a separate project and then drag the .veg to the first line, but it still crashes. Should I change a setting in the ram/threads? What should I do? How shuld I handle long prohects? This one is abot 7 minutes long total.

It sounds like Vegas doesn’t like the output of MPEG Streamclip. Why are you transcoding the T2i video. Doesn’t Vegas Pro 10 support the T2i format natively? (I thought it did) If not, why not upgrade to Vegas Pro 12.0 which definitely does support T2i files.

I tried normally, but it was even coppier and slower. Crashed even more. ‘m even doubting my Vegas is 64 bit. It installes on the Sony folder in “Program Files (x86)”. Only the shared plugins were on the 64bit Prgram Files. I don’t know if i’ve set something wrong. Everywhere I looked, even Loli’s page, and (everyone eslse’s pretty much)they said to always transcode. My specs are not powerful enough? Is it that I’m color correcting as I go and I should’ve just cut and move arround clips before? Did I import stuff again and again instead of using the media manager? Settings, codecs, quicktime version…? Ideas?

God. I’ve just re-read my first post. Jeez, my lappy keyboard sucks. I’m not retarded, I can type. Just leaving this here. Any ideas? Are the specs good enough? I want to keep shotting stuff without getting another computer, but I can’t settle for only 3 minutes of painless editing followed by a horror movie.

I don’t like your comment and regard it as painful, distasteful and unnecessary.
I am very certain you could express your frustrations without the need to compare yourself to a human and person who does have learning difficulties and would have parents who may also be reading this thread and may well be equally hurt by your comment.
