    Hello…
I am new in the world of video editing and using Sony Vegas.
I am Working with someone on a video editing project he has a Mac and I have a PC. I am using Sony Vegas Pro 11 and taking interview clips off my new JVC gy-hm150u video camera that are in Mp4 format with the XDCAM codec and he is sending me video clips in mov format. The clips are in HD 1280 x 720 60p from my camera and the format he is sending me are the same. When I try to change the size to a smaller size ie 960 x 540 Vegas will render his files fine but the ones off my JVC camera will crash my computer. The video starts to render and it color shifts as it is rendering then just crashes. Does anyone have any idea as to why this may happen?

    Joe,

I don’t have a JVC, but there are things you can check out.

Have you tried with GPU setting off?
Is there a codec needed from JVC in order to use these files?
Has a codec pack ever been installed? (a bad thing)
Can you render them to any other formats? (mp2, mov, etc.

How do you import these files?

When responding give version#, OS and hardware details.
