  Waveforms taking a long time

  Is there any reason Vegas would suddenly take a very long time to create the waveforms on a single audio event? This is irrespective of clip length and I have already restarted my machine. Is there some kind of setting that can be changed?

  I am using Vegas 9.0e Build 1147.
