[Rick Altizer] “GPU Acceleration slows down render with Quadro 600 card.”

Yea, that’s to be expected. It should be no surprise to anyone that a $150 graphics card is slower than a $300 quad core CPU. I had the opposite problem with my Quadro 4000. I had an old Core2Quad CPU and it was the bottleneck. I’m getting much faster GPU renders now that I have a Core i7 with quad channel memory.

Cheap Graphics card can at no time be of any significant
benefit, to anyone, in the long run

I’m not sure how this “reply” became it’s own thread. Anyway it was meant to be in the Survey thread. The Quadro 600 is not really “cheap” it is actually overpriced for what it is. It’s simply underpowered for video rendering.
